This site is run by Heather Florio. It is editorial — there is no commerce here, no third-party analytics, no advertising trackers. This page describes the small amount of information the site collects and how it is used.
What we collect
Two narrow streams.
- If you subscribe to be notified when something new is posted, the site stores the email address you provide. No name, no additional personal data.
- When you visit a page, the site logs basic metadata — the URL you visited, the page that referred you (if any), your browser's user-agent string, and an approximate IP-derived country. The originating IP address is recorded server-side at the moment of the request and treated as low-sensitivity diagnostic data, not as a personally-identifying record.
That is the entire collection.
What we don't do
- No third-party analytics — no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Fathom, no anything else.
- No advertising or marketing pixels.
- No social-media trackers.
- No cookies set by this site beyond those required for the basic operation of the site (currently none).
Where it lives
Subscriber emails and visit metadata are stored in a Postgres database hosted by Railway. Railway is the site's hosting provider and the database is private to this site.
How long we keep it
- Subscriber emails stay until you ask for removal, or until the list is rotated for a launch announcement.
- Visit logs are kept for diagnostic and editorial-decision purposes for up to 12 months, then aged out.
Your rights
You can ask, at any time, for:
- a copy of the data the site holds about you,
- correction of anything inaccurate,
- deletion of your record.
Reach out via Jim at Capco PR — [email protected] — or any other contact link on the site.
Children
This site is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes
If the site's data practices change, this page is updated and the last updated stamp at the top moves. There is no separate notification mechanism beyond the page itself.
